Description
Piece of textile art, countryside landscape. Curiosity is a motivation to discover, search, explore, learn and meet the unknown. It is this curious nature that leads me to explore the art of textiles and the many techniques of quilting. The curious nature of the sheep that come to meet me is the subject of my exploration in this work in juxtaposition with the border made of different tiles. The background is created in this spirit of exploration by the random assembly of pieces. This curious, cheerful and candid nature refers to a memory of holidays in L’Isle-Verte in Quebec. A bicycle ride where images of flowery fields, colorful houses, smokehouses, the river, and the sky, pass before my eyes and remain in memory. These memories are interpreted in the border by traditional squares while referring to the well-preserved heritage of the island. The halt in front of the sheep marks the present time, the reason for the contemporary work in the center.
